Australian waterfront homes attract the largest premium

Sydney waterfront homes attract the largest premium in the world according to data from Knight Frank.

The Knight Frank International Waterfront Index for 2022 saw three Australian cities sitting in the top five positions of this year’s rankings, with Sydney leading the rankings at a premium of 121%, Gold Coast coming in third at 71% and Perth ranked fourth at 69%.

Waterfront property in Sydney with iconic views across a harbour is more than twice as much as an equivalent home set away from the water.

In the 12 months to June 2022, the average price increase for a waterfront property in the index was 10.9%.
